Photoluminescent Lighting Council
Established in 2015, the Photoluminescent Lighting Council (PLC) is the leading organisation for the photoluminescent lighting industry in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia / Pacific Region.
The aim of the PLC is to further the understanding and use of photoluminescent products and solutions.
The PLC has developed the following objectives:-
- To further the use of photoluminescent and other alternative technologies which enhance emergency visibility and exit signs in evacuation routes and escape routes.
- To contribute to the development of standards which facilitate the use of photoluminescent and other alternative technologies and performance solutions to meet emergency visibility and exit sign requirements of building codes.
- To support education and professional development relating to photoluminescent and other alternative technologies and performance solutions for emergency visibility and exit signs.
- To promote and encourage technical development of emergency visibility and exit sign products and systems.
- To encourage the integration of alternative technologies with traditional lighting systems.
The PLC was instrumental in the development of Technical Specification SA TS 5367:2021, Hybrid photoluminescent signage – product specification, installation and operation released by Standards Australia in October 2021.

The Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI) was founded in 1959 as the lead organization in the advocacy of safety, health and environment protection.
